Sungrow Inverters Wi-Fi Reconnect

Sungrow SG Series

(For all SG-Series Sungrow Inverters with WiFi Dongle)

1. Check your WiFi signal strength

Stand near your Sungrow inverter with your phone and verify that your home WiFi network appears in the available list.

If your WiFi network does not show up at the inverter’s location, you may need to install a WiFi extender or connect using a LAN cable (supported on most CX models).

If the inverter cannot detect the WiFi signal, it will not be able to connect to the internet.

2. Restart the inverter if it recently disconnected

Turn the AC supply OFF using the main solar AC isolator near your switchboard.

Turn the DC supply OFF using the isolator located beneath or beside the inverter.

Wait for one minute until all LED indicators and display lights have fully shut down.

Turn the DC back ON, followed by the AC.

Allow a few minutes for the inverter to reboot, then check if the NET or WLAN light becomes solid green.

If the connection is still not restored, continue with the steps below.

3. Enable the inverter's WiFi hotspot

Press the multifunction button on the Sungrow WiFi dongle three times quickly.

This activates the inverter’s internal WiFi hotspot, allowing your phone to connect.

4. Connect your phone to the Sungrow hotspot

Open the iSolarCloud app.

Tap Support in the bottom navigation bar.

Select Local Access.

Under the Commissioning Tools section, tap Local Access again.

5. Scan the QR code

A Scan to Connect screen will open.

Scan the QR code on the Sungrow inverter’s WiFi dongle.

When prompted, tap Join to connect your phone to the inverter’s hotspot.

6. Enter the login details

An identity verification page will appear.

Enter the default credentials:

  • Account: user
  • Password: pw1111

Tap Verification to continue.

7. Connect the inverter to your home WiFi

After logging in, tap More in the bottom navigation bar.

Select WLAN Configuration.

This opens the WiFi setup page.

Select your home network

A list of WiFi networks will appear.

Choose your home network, enter your WiFi password, and save the settings.

8. Verify connection status

The app will confirm once the inverter successfully connects.

The WLAN light on your Sungrow inverter should turn solid blue, indicating a stable WiFi connection.

Troubleshooting tips

  • Ensure that your router’s 2.4 GHz WiFi band is enabled — Sungrow inverters cannot connect to 5 GHz networks.
  • Double-check your WiFi password — it must match exactly, including uppercase letters and symbols.
  • If the inverter does not appear in iSolarCloud, go back to Step 3 and re-enable hotspot mode.
  • For commercial systems, a wired LAN connection is recommended for reliable communication.
  • If connection issues persist, restart both your inverter and router, or contact your installer or Sungrow Service for further support.
